The Rio Grande is born in the mountains of southern Colorado and then flows south to become the border between the United States and Mexico. Undoubtedly the most spectacular stretch of the river is between Creede and South Fork, Colorado. The old bed of the Denver and Rio Grande Railway follows this stretch of the river for several miles. |  |
